A lush ceremony installation of seasonal florals and greenery

Autumn · November 2022

Fatima & Rohan

A private farmhouse, Chhatarpur, New Delhi

Fatima and Rohan asked for a wedding that belonged to both of them entirely — a nikah and a Hindu ceremony, neither watered down. We gave it a weekend and a Delhi farmhouse.

Friday's nikah sat under a canopy of jasmine; Sunday's mandap and pheras under a sky of marigold. The mehndi and sangeet in between ran past two in the morning. A November thunderstorm rerouted the baraat indoors with ninety seconds' notice; almost nobody noticed, which is the whole job.

Two hundred and eighty guests, two ceremonies, a dinner where the toasts came in three languages. By the last function the families had stopped keeping score.

Two faiths, two families, one impossibly loud dance floor. They held all of it.Fatima & Rohan
